The googletalk memoir. With the exception of Baxter, this has been the greatest birthday gift I've ever received. Katie printed a book (with a real cover and library of congress number and reaction quotes from everyone from Edward Norton to Mitt Romney) of our chats. This book is not only hilarious to read, but it is a tangible reminder that Katie is seriously the coolest person I know. The back cover alone is enough to make me bow down to her skills.
The Notwist is a band I stumbled across a few months ago, not since I discovered DeVotchka have I been so enamored with a new band...I also found this Icelandic band called Sigur Ross...but that's another day, anywho, this is a fantastic album, and I heart it.
MAC's fluidline gel eyeliner is the greatest product MAC offers. (and between you and me, that's saying something) Ladies, and a few of my more liberal male friends :) this is the best product you could ever buy...you apply it with a brush and it comes in every color ever...it doesn't smudge, smear, or run. FOR REAL.
My nike shox. This is my second pair, and I don't think I'll ever switch. These are the greatest shoes on the planet. They're so comfortable and they come in approved meg colors.
The strike is over and Ugly Betty is back...I LOVE (in capital letters) this show. Especially Justin and Gio, even Zach likes this show. It's wonderful, anyone who thinks differently hates freedom.
Cynth gave me her old Oskar food processor and I love it. I've lately been following the sneaky chef trend and mixing vegetable purees into everything I make. I love it, and the food processor, even though slightly outdated, still works like a charm. Seriously guys, if you've eaten at my house recently, you've been unknowingly eating tons of veggies you swore you never liked...
I love this movie. I always have. I always will. It is as close to perfect as a movie will ever get.
I've been rereading Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" and I had forgotten how much I love it. If you haven't read it, I really do recommend it. I usually leave the book recommendations to Dani, but I'm making an exception, this is a great book.
Katie. I'm not sure if you can count people as simple pleasures, but to imagine my life without Katie is like trying to imagine my life without the use of half of my brain. She's my best friend, my therapist, my career advisor, my tag-in, the person I'd call to help me hide the body, and my life is a lot easier when she's around.
Last, but certainly not least, Zach. If ever there was a man after my own heart it's him. I feel like I could be really irritating and talk about the things I love about him, or, I could show you a picture of him eating whipped cream right out of the bowl and tell you that he made a Mii character (for the Wii) that looked exactly like Hitler only with blue eyshadow, lipstick and a beauty mark and called it "Hitlerwhore." He gets me.

I think Zach makes it into my 'simple pleasures' list as well - only its not when he eats whipped cream right from the bowl, but rather when he mixes Kraft Catalina salad dressing in with his mashed potatoes. And also when he does his sunken-lazy eye trick and just looks at you while he smacks his lips. HAH!!! (That was an Alf laugh, just in case you were wondering.)
I think I'd like to nominate Brady coming up behind you, putting his hand on your mouth and whispering into your ear "shh, shh, quiet, quiet" for consideration as well. And I sometimes feel nostalgic for Alf...

PS - I could hear Kurt giggling in the spare room over that Zach photo for a good 10 minutes or so.
I am endlessly flattered to be one (two, sort of) your simple pleasures, though I do kind of wish I hadn't been wearing my mom sweater when my publicity shot was taken. :( I shall carry on, however.

I want that food processor to be one of my simple pleasures. Expecially (yes expecially) since I want to make my own baby food someday soon.
